Sometimes holding on is necessary. Healthy boundaries, self-respect, and stability are important foundations in our lives. They help us protect our time, our energy, and the things that truly matters to us. Without these forms of protection, it can be easy to lose ourselves in the expectations or demands of others.

But there are also moments when holding on begins to come from a different place. Instead of supporting us, it may be driven by fear β€” fear of change, fear of loss, or uncertainty about what might happen if we allow something to shift. When this happens, what once provided stability can slowly become something that keeps us stuck.

And under the light of the Full Moon in Libra, the Four of Pentacles invites us to pause and reflect on this delicate balance.

Libra is often associated with fairness, harmony, and relationships, but at its core, it is a sign concerned with balance. It asks us to look honestly at the scales of our lives and notice where something may have quietly drifted out of alignment.

The Four of Pentacles, however, often appears when someone is trying to maintain control, protect stability, or preserve what feel secure. This can relate to many areas of life β€” money, time, emotions, relationships, beliefs, or even identity. There is usually a strong desire to keep things as they are because it feels safe or familiar.

However, the deeper message of the card is not only about protection. It is about awareness of attachment.

Perhaps we are holding onto expectations β€” of ourselves, of others, or of how things were supposed to unfold. Perhaps we are holding onto responsibilities that once felt meaningful but now feel heavy. Or perhaps we are holding onto a sense of control, believing that if we loosen our grip even slightly, everything around us might begin to fall apart.

The Four of Pentacles gently reminds us that not everything we hold onto needs to be carried forever.

Some things are worth protecting. Our values, our well-being, and the relationships that truly support our growth deserve our care and attention. But other things may remain in our hands simply because we have grown used to holding them.

This Full Moon in Libra encourages us to look more closely at those attachments.

Where might we be holding on too tightly?
Are they still supporting the life we are building?
Or are they quietly preventing us from moving forward?

Balance does not always come from holding everything firming in place. Sometimes balance appears when we allow a little more space β€” space for change, space for new perspectives, and space for growth to unfold in ways we may not yet fully see.

The message of the Four of Pentacles during this Full Moon in Libra is not about letting go of everything we value. Rather, it is about becoming aware of the difference between protecting what matters and holding on out of fear.

When we recognise that difference, we begin to find a healthier balance between stability and openness. And sometimes, that balance begins with a simple but powerful act: loosening our grip.
